Wim Wenders: A Retrospective Curated by Ron Foley Macdonald
A Collaboration Between the Atlantic Film Festival and Dalhousie Art Gallery
Screenings at 5 pm every day at the Dalhousie Art Gallery, Basement of the Arts Centre, 6101 University Avenue, with introductions by the curator
One of this year’s Strategic Partners co-production conference countries at the 29th Atlantic Film Festival is Germany, and no German Filmmaker has a more international outlook than Wim Wenders. This short retrospective will reconsider two of his most influential films, Paris, Texas and Wings Of Desire ), along with his groundbreaking documentaries Tokyo-Ga and The Buena Vista Social Club , and cinematic collaborations with filmmakers who have influenced him, such as his work with legendary Rebel Without A Cause director Nicholas Ray ( Lightning Over Water ) and his amanuensis role in Antonioni’s final film, Beyond The Clouds .
Admission to screenings at the Gallery is free. Donations are welcome. Seating is limited.

Lodging with her sister's family--with a brother-in-law doctor--Muna and Fadi experience their new country with a mix of wonder and dread. When the Iraq war breaks out, however, intolerance and misunderstandings intrude on the family's humour and enthusiasm, sparking a crisis that challenges the entire family.
