Perhaps the most beautiful and revealing documentary ever made about Sable Island and its equine inhabitants, Chasing Wild Horses follows top New York City fashion photographer Roberto Dutescoa man obsessed with that desolate yet astonishing sand dune strip located on the edge of North Americas Continental Shelf. With access strictly controlled due to the islands delicate ecology, filming has been extremely challenging over the last two decades. Its a tribute to director Matt Trecartins extraordinary cinematic skills that the film manages to build the fullest contemporary picture ever of one of the Atlantic Oceans most enigmatic places.
